DVS Backup is a fully featured secure online backup services that allows you to safely guard the files and data stored on your workstations and laptops, specially designed with the small business in mind.

DVS Backup has been designed using the most up-to-date technology and by making use of animations, attractive layouts and complex logistics, we provide our users with a great experience from initial setup to routine tasks.

With DVS Backup you can manually backup your files any time or setup a schedule for automatic backups. You can also go beyond the customary backup operation by taking advantage of unique features like Magic Folders and Time Vault.

Your saved data can only be accessed from your computer. This prevents malicious people getting access to your files even if they have your username and password. If you change or upgrade your computer, you will need to go through our automated 5 step online security check to enable your data to be accessed by your new or modified computer.

DVS's inbuilt Data Integrity checking system protects your data at all times, monitoring all your backed up files for corruption and dealing with the problem automatically on detection.

Secure Encrypted Connection
To ensure the privacy of your data, all communications between our client application and the DVS servers are encrypted. All files are duplicated to different locations, so even in the event of a disaster that affects one of the locations, your data is still safe.

Scheduled Backups
DVS Backup has a comprehensive and easy to use scheduler allowing you to choose when you would like your backups to begin.

Backup Now Option
This option will allow you to perform an immediate backup by starting a backup straight away.

Drag/Drop Interface
You can also use the ‘Drag/Drop Tool’ to easily restore files. This tool opens as a little gadget on your desktop and you can simply drag files to it and you will be presented with options to restore. You can also use the drag and drop tool to add additional files to your backup catalogue.

E-mail notification
DVS Backup will send you an email notification of the results of your backups.

Restore of selected files
DVS Backup allows the user to restore a single file, multiple files or a complete restore of all data. The user can select a particular file or files and restore them to their original locations or a location of the user’s choice. If DVS Backup detects a file with the same name in that location, DVS Backup will prompt the user with a confirmation box giving the user a choice.

• Restore and overwrite (this will restore and overwrite the executing file)
• Don't Restore ( file will be skipped and not restored )
• Restore and rename (the file will be restored and renamed ‘filename.dvs.jpg’)

Full Restore with Point in Time
DVS Backup offers two full restore option’s ‘Most Recent’ and ‘Point in Time.’ Older versions of your files are kept for up to 30,60,90 days depending on the space you have purchased, so you can restore previous versions of your documents and even restore files that were accidentally deleted. You can select individual files and versions to restore or a complete set of files. With the full restore you can choose to restore the most recent versions or restore versions, based on a previous date.

Multi User Environment
If you have a computer system with multiple users DVS Backup Multi User Environment allows each user to have their own backup settings.

Runs as a Windows Service
Upon the install DVS Backup Installer will install DVS Backup as a service in your computer’s services, enabling backup to run, even if you are not logged on to your system.

Resume on connection fail
If your Internet connection should fail, DVS Backup will resume the backup from the point that it failed, on reconnecting. This was specifically designed with laptop users in mind, who never have enough time to backup their laptop data, once the scheduled backup has started. DVS Backup will attempt to back up your data whenever there is an Internet connection, so a busy business person can start backing up as and when they are near an Internet connection.

Magic Folders
Magic Folders are folders on your local computer that are synchronized with the DVS servers and you can access its files from the Internet. There are three types of Magic Folder, each recognized by its security level access.

• Private Magic Folder: Files under this folder are private and require you to login with your DVS Account user name and password for access.
• Friends Magic Folder: Store files in this folder that you want to share with friends and team members. You will set a password for this folder and only those that you give the password to, can have access to the files.
• Public Magic Folder: Store files in this folder that you want to be available to anyone. It does not require a password to access, so you can use this folder to share files from your personal blogs or work space.

Time Vault
With Time Vault you can select any folder under your ‘My Documents’ folder to be monitored in real time for changes that are continuously backed up over the Internet. Use the Time Vault feature to protect your time sensitive data, so if you need a restore you will always have the most recent data available. Data in the Time Vault is not viewable on the website and is held in our secure storage area.

Non Invasive to your Desktop
DVS Backup is non invasive to your desktop and runs smoothly from an icon in the system tray, but it is always running in the background as long as the computer is switched on, no matter if you are logged in or not.

DVS Open File Option
With the built in ‘Open File Option’ there is no need to make sure all files you have been working on are closed. DVS Backup will backup these files even if you are in the process of working on them, or they are left open by another user. DVS Backup will backup these files, protecting you at all times.

30 Day File Versioning
DVS File versioning allows you to have up to 30 days of backups of the same file, so in the event of a loss or corrupted file you can restore back to 30 days.

New* Data Integrity Check
Each file is checked before upload and the unique MD5 signature is recorded and stored in a Data Base at DVS. Once the file has been uploaded, DVS checks the unique MD5 signature is still the same. If the unique MD5 signature has altered, then the server will request the file to be re-uploaded. Once uploaded and transferred to the storage servers DVS periodically runs a MD5 signature check on all files stored on its servers. If the system finds some corruption on one of the files, the system will request the backup application to re-upload this file.
